New Face Mask Protocol

Starting the week of June 1, 2020, Face Masks are required to participate in class training for karate or tai chi. Your face mask must fit properly. This means it should completely cover the nose and mouth without shifting. The mask you wear should be comfortable and not restrict your breathing during training.
You may choose bring your own mask from home or purchase a “Ninja Face Mask” from us. Our Ninja Face Masks are constructed of lightweight polyester with a nylon mesh that covers the nose and mouth. The fabric is soft, stretchy, breathable and comfy. It also can be washed and reused. We recommend washing it each night after class… or order two masks, so you can launder them once a week!

If you would like a Ninja Face Mask (or two) please order from our Web site. Masks are $5 each. To receive your Ninja Face Mask in time for our re-opening the week of June 1, you will need to order by Tuesday, May 19. Your mask will be handed to you when you arrive at the dojo. We have a limited supply, so order quickly!

What to Expect When You Return to Class

Here are some things to be aware of when you first start returning to Karate or Tai Chi class in June 2020.
  1. You will need to arrive already dressed out in your karate uniform. (Tai Chi students, come in your exercise clothing.)
  2. You must arrive a minimum of 15 minutes prior to your class time because you must go through a short health check. We will have a table set up outside the back door for checking temperatures and completing a short questionnaire.
  3. For your first visit, you will be asked to complete a new health waiver. If you'd like to complete it ahead of time and turn it in to us when you arrive,  here is the printable document.
  4. If you are late, you will NOT be admitted into class. The back door will be locked once class begins.
  5. A maximum of 12 people may be in our building at one time. If more people consistently show up for class than we have slots, we will add additional class times.
  6. Due to the maximum occupancy, visitors & family members are asked to wait outside in their cars.
  7. Maintain as much social distancing as possible in class. We realize that the "6 foot" distance is not always possible in our building space. Do the best you can to respect social distancing. Do not loiter in the "shoe room" so that others can get in and out as well. (Once outside you may loiter and chat if you'd like!)
  8. Limit bathroom usage unless it is an emergency. Why? Because between each use, the bathroom must be completely sanitized. (Toilet seat, sink handles, door handles, light switch, etc.)
  9. Wash your hands often! We will provide hand sanitizer and recommend it is used often.
  10. We commit to sanitizing every common used surface between each class and deep cleaning/sanitizing before and after class on all surfaces.

Finally, it probably goes without saying, but if you feel ill or have had a fever STAY HOME!

Thank you for your continued support of Branson Karate and Tai Chi. We have missed you! If you are a new student, we welcome you to our Martial Arts Family. Please bare with us as we navigate this new "normal" for a while.
