June 1: TUFF & Proud Self Defense
This is the TUFF & Proud Self-Defense Class, a a powerful, affirming self-defense program designed specifically for LGBTQIA+ individuals who want to build confidence, protect themselves, and move through the world with greater strength and peace of mind!
The class is equally focused on safety and prevention strategies as well as real-life techniques you can use to escape a physical attack. Personal safety packets will also be included in your training.
The class will be held from from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

What You'll Learn:
• Real-world self-defense techniques (no experience needed!)
• Verbal boundary-setting and de-escalation skills
• Awareness strategies for safer living
• Empowerment drills to boost confidence and body language
• A judgment-free, supportive environment to train and grow
Open to all fitness levels, gender identities, and expressions.
No special equipment needed — just comfortable clothes and your courageous spirit!
Recommended minimum of age is 16. There is no maximum age. You should wear comfortable, stretchy clothing. (i.e. a t-shirt and jogger pants or sweats) We have a soft mat floor, so we will not wear shoes. If you wish, you may wear socks.
Note: At checkout, you have the option to buy two tickets to bring a friend for a discount! Class is always more fun with a friend.
The class will fill up quickly as we have a maximum of 20 per class.
Your instructor is Vashon Borich-Leach, a 7th degree black belt. She is the founder of Branson Karate & Tai Chi and is a passionate advocate for creating safe, empowering spaces for ALL individuals. With over 40 years of martial arts experience, she is committed to helping everyone unleash their inner strength.
